Middlesbrough celebrated their league game in fashion at the Riverside as Marvin Johnson’s second-half strike secured a 1-0 win over Reading.
Jonathan Woodgate’s side were victorious again as they maintained their next Sky Bet Championship success of the year twenty-four years after the Teessiders started their new life over Chelsea.
Though Middlesbrough were indebted to goalkeeper Darren Randolph to get several late saves that averted by claiming an equaliser exploring, entities settled.

Boro’s goalkeeper has been the key figure in the closing phases, with two dramatic rescue securing his side all three points.
Before siphoned another goal-bound effort from Liam 23, displaying agility, Randolph turned Lucas Joao’s front-post header round the post.
Jonathan Woodgate:”I thought we deserved to win it. I believed they piled on the pressure, however we stood solid. Like I mentioned at the week, we needed to discover that steelthat belief and I thought we did this.
“I thought we needed to win the game. I thought we looked really dangerous and might have been a few goals up. It was well deserved, and I was pleased for the lads, they gave me everything.”
Jose Gomes:”Puscas, Joao and Pele didn’t start. Pele and Puscas had travelled for their group, but that wasn’t the reason. The motive was that I did not like the way they played in the game.
“I’ve got six strikers, they are all excellent players, and they must all fight for their position. They need to give and it’s my duty as their supervisor. If they don’t give the maximum that they can, in my opinion, subsequently we have very good high quality players who can replace them and play.”
